Video
Well i just finished viewing the video. It had alot of interesting points. I do feel that most institutions just go through the motions. You just sit in the same class for 2 or 3 days a week, take notes, and then take test. I am not sure how this prepares people for anything. I believe that if you are receiving an education it should be hands on. I have always wanted to be a teacher, and wasnt sent into the field until I was a junior at the college that I graduated from. I would have hated to think that I wasted three years of college and then decided I didnt want to become a teacher after I have experienced it. I attended a private college my first year and we were sent out into the field to experience and get hands on what is was actually like to be a teacher in the real world. I think you can sit in a classroom all day long and take notes and not learn a thing. I have sat through alot of classes and I couldnt tell you have of the stuff that I learned. The only problem I see without having some kind of education or degree is that you cant good a job. Most companies require their employees to have some kind of education. It isnt like when my parents came through high school and were deciding about college, they could find decent jobs with good pay without having some form of education after high school. I do hear people say college is so expensive. There are plenty of ways to get your college paid for. There are grants, scholarships, and even loans. But I know people dont want to be in debt their whole lives because of college. If you graduate with a teaching degree and teach in a low socioeconomic school for 5 years there is a place that will pick up your loans. I am paying more for my masters than I did for the 5 years to get my undergraduate degree. Yes I know I will get a pay raise but I also have to pay for it. I dont think college is for everyone but you need to have some kind of training or schooling to get a good job, that you will be able to provide for yourself and not struggle with the day to day necessities.

Tiny URL
http://tiny.cc/h0x2zv6mf3
I made my blog address into a tiny url. I had no idea you could do this and I will be using it for the websites that I use all the time in my classroom. Everyday we use at least two website to complete assigments. This will help me remember the short url because I am always having trouble remembering the whole url.
